Goa
Beaches north and south, Portuguese churches, and the easiest short break in the country.
November to February is peak Goa — dry, warm and busy. March and October are quieter and cheaper with much the same weather. The monsoon shuts most beach shacks but leaves the countryside green.
North Goa suits first-timers and groups; the southern beaches are quieter and better for couples.
